Chicken necks are in the news.

A vet in Australia are stating that a study was done by one of their universities out there on chicken and campylobacter in a word about raw feeding.

campylobacter is already in the gut in dogs and cats and stays there without a problem unless the dog or cat becomes not well. What isn't clear in the report is.

how controlled was the study?
why use their own pets in the study?
why so little amounts of dogs?
Is it just necks what of the rest of the chicken?
Was this study done by vets? and why was it for the food chain for commercial foods?
Did any of the dogs get well by themselves with no treatment?
The most important question is did any of them die and if so was it in fact the chicken necks that caused it.

Me personally I don't care what you feed really I don't as long as the dog lives a happy life because its personal choice on what to feed.

My choice is raw.

I recommend raw always. I give advice on raw  because I raw feed my own dogs.

Our food chain is a bit different from Australia being UK well for me  Scotland and we have processes to go through for our own foods and the dogs and I do buy ethically when I can which means there is a vet on call in all abattoirs to see that the beast is killed as humanely as possible.

Yes germs get into everything but that is the same for our foods but if we follow basic hygiene we can avert upset stomaches.

I take on board any kind of debate over this but not out right rudeness as in I am the spawn of satan for feeding raw.

I shall continue feeding raw still and hope others do, but if not ask yourselves why?

Please also always check sources before deciding too on what it is you want to feed your dog.

HAPPY TRAILS
