Yes, we health test.

This is a standard Great Dane dog 

Both our Sire's and dams are hip and or elbow scored under the BVA scheme whenever possible and have the relevant certificates. These can be shown if requested when visiting. 

We are not a member of the Kennel Club Assured Scheme but, 

for us it was essential to do hip and or elbow score for all our Danes that where being used as part of a breeding programme to ensure they where healthy enough to be bred from. 

 Years later, it was decided by the Kennel Club to relax the rules on elbow scoring but to keep the hip scoring it is now a recommendation to health test your Great Dane as of 2012. 

We as a breeder and owner still continue to do this as we felt it was important  to make sure we are breeding healthy puppies from known as healthy as possible parents. 

I am not a magician and cannot tell if my dog has hip dysplasia or not hence the testing when adults  as much as I can as after all a pup/dog is a living being, I go by my results for the best outcomes. I will endeavour to use healthy dogs in my breeding programme. 

at Liverpool University Vet Hospital to have all our over 4's heart tested for DCM. (heart disease)

We have since discovered that there is a Doppler scheme off the ground too for over 1's and participating in this once we get more info for Liverpool University Vet Hospital for their ongoing research for the killer that is DCM.


We now IMGD it is also called CNM  all our breeding stock
plus we shall be doing the LEMP test soon too as more and more dogs are imported or we go aboard to use a stud dog or import semen.

All Culseandanes dogs are clear of IMGD and relevant certificates are available on request plus are included in the puppy packs now for peace of mind.

Great Danes so can be looked up.

we did the pup scan on Cersei litter 8 pups in total and it was a breeze
all are growing as they should be all relevant certificates were put in the puppy packs as well.
